Empire State of Grind Entertainment's Headliner KONY BROOKS

Empire State of Grind Entertainment own Kony Brooks  is a well rounded individual; Music Artist, Ghost Writer, Musical Mentor, Lyrical Teacher, Basketball Coach and Rap Game Entrepreneur are some of the hats that this Bronx native wears.

Born in the 90's in Southern Blvd section of the Boogie Down Bronx, the multi-talented indie artist is on a journey to take over the music industry. Starting at the tender age of 7, wrote his first rhyme for a school project. At that time, the potential was there, but maturation was needed; At age 11 he revisited the subject of composition, feeling that he was better equipped and with that he as well as others noticed that if taken, serious, music was in his future. At the behest of lifelong friend & classmate Zay Rhymes,  the pursuit began.

In High School, KONY became more active in his craft and embraced the culture of Hip Hop as a whole,  joining a program that directly associated him with three other rappers that became "Tha Works Records." As the story of so many artists goes, over the next few years the group flip flopped from name to name, finally settling on  "The Almighty Renegades." However great the time was, the group effort was short lived and KONY knew that in order for him to reach his goals, going at it solo was a must.

With the support of his Manager, Walter L. Morris aka Hustle Mo, CEO of EmpireStateofGrind Entertainment as well as family and friends,  KONY has gone on to release 2 Solo mixtapes, release countless visuals and a debut album,  Divine Right (March  2012) and sophomore effort Kony Island (March 2013)

The King Of NY has appeared and been featured on various Internet Radio outlets with the Steph Lova on DTF Radio, Dj Dynasty (Niteline), Ivy SoMajor (So Major Radio), Dj ShownTell (Sunday Night Cook Up), MeloDream/IMG Radio, CoCo (Just Gimmie The Mic), AllCityRadio, Teknologist Radio, Underground Express (Connecticut), QSJ Radio, Xtreme 104FM and Eddie Kayne (420 Radio) and many more. Learning from his biggest influences who he names as Zay Rhymes, the late Biggie Smalls, Eminem, and Lloyd Banks, Eats, Sleeps, and Breathes Music.
